2. Data We Collect
Novara collects the following types of data to provide its features:
- Health & Fitness Data: Steps, heart rate, calories, sleep, workouts, and nutrition data accessed through Apple HealthKit with your explicit permission.
- Nutrition Preferences: Dietary styles, allergies, disliked foods, and calorie targets you enter manually.
- Meal Plans: AI-generated meal plans created based on your preferences, stored locally on your device.
- Purchase Information: In-app purchase transactions processed securely through Apple's App Store. We do not store your payment details.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To generate personalised AI meal plans tailored to your dietary needs and fitness goals.
- To display your health trends, activity data, and nutrition insights within the app.
- To process in-app purchases for meal plan generation.
- To improve app functionality and user experience.
4. Apple HealthKit
Novara uses Apple HealthKit to read health and fitness data. This data is used solely within the app to personalise your experience. We do not share HealthKit data with third parties, advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than providing app features. HealthKit data is never used for marketing or advertising purposes.
5. AI Meal Plan Generation
When you generate a meal plan, your dietary preferences (e.g. allergies, dietary style, meal count) are sent to Mistral AI's API to generate personalised meal suggestions. This data is transmitted securely over HTTPS. No personally identifiable information (name, email, health metrics) is sent to Mistral AI — only anonymised dietary preferences.
6. Data Storage
All your health data, meal plans, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's secure on-device storage. We do not operate servers that store your personal data. Your data stays on your iPhone.
7. Third-Party Services
- Apple HealthKit: For reading health and fitness data. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
- Mistral AI: For AI meal plan generation. Only anonymised dietary preferences are shared. Subject to Mistral AI's privacy policy.
- Apple App Store / StoreKit: For processing in-app purchases. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
- Firebase / Google: For anonymous analytics and crash reporting. No personal data is linked to analytics events.
8. Children's Privacy
Novara is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
9. Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can:
- Delete the app at any time to remove all locally stored data.
- Revoke HealthKit permissions at any time via Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
- Contact us to request deletion of any data associated with your account.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
